Marcel Breuer armchairs model Wassily B3 edition Gavina 1970 set of 2

Reference:

Description

This pair of armchairs was designed in 1925 by the Hungarian designer Marcel Breuer, then produced by Gavina in the 1970s in Italy (publisher label under the seat, see photo). It is composed of a structure in bent steel tube and beige canvas strap forming backrest, seat and armrests.

For this model, Marcel Breuer was inspired by industry manufacturing techniques, it will be described as revolutionary for its time! A great classic that we like to find in interiors, we will never get tired of it. The Wassily, or B3, is an essential piece of 20th-century design.

It owes its name to Vassily Kandinsky, indeed this armchair was designed by the designer for the apartment of the famous painter.
