Set of 4 Méribel Chairs by Christian Durupt – Vintage Pine Design
Designed by Christian Durupt in the 1960s for the Méribel ski resort, this set of four chairs illustrates the simple and functional elegance of French modernist alpine furniture. Crafted from solid pine, they stand out for the sobriety of their lines and the natural warmth of the wood, both characteristic of the designer’s work.
At the crossroads of modernist design and Savoyard craftsmanship, these chairs reflect the spirit of the mountain interiors envisioned in the post-war period, where the authenticity of materials and functionality played a central role. Christian Durupt, close to the world of Charlotte Perriand, contributed to this aesthetic that has become emblematic of French Alpine resorts.
Their minimalist and timeless silhouette allows them to blend effortlessly into both contemporary chalets and more refined or vintage interiors.
A beautiful set of 1960s French chairs, defined by their authentic charm and warm presence.
