This set of 6 Basket model chairs was designed in 1950 by Gian Franco Legler, Italian-Swiss designer, and then edited by Pierantonio Bonacina in Italy. These stackable chairs consist of a honey-colored rattan seat and a black metal base. The feet are covered with a plastic to increase their resistance, moreover it allows an outdoor use.
For the record, these chairs were made for the Italian restaurant "The Basket", they won the "good design award" given by the MoMa (Museum of Modern Art) in New York in 1953.
We love the minimalism of the design and the combination of materials. A beautiful, iconic piece for your home.
