Egon Eiermann daybed geometrical black and white fabric by Honeta 1968

Description

This sofa or daybed was designed by Egon Eiermann and then produced by Honeta in 1968,label produced under the seat (picture n°11). It is composed of a rectangular structure in chromed steel, a back and a seat covered by a black and white fabric with geometrical shapes (picture n°10).

A geometrical fabric was chosen to cover this daybed in order to retain the very straight shapes of the structure.

These sofas were designed for the former house of representatives of the German Bundestag ("Long Eugen"). All the offices (around 450) had been furnished with these benches. The producer labels still present under the seating are very rare, half of the production no longer possesses them.
