This set of six seats, comprising four armchairs and two chairs, features the Carimate model designed by Italian designer Vico Magistretti in 1959 and produced by Cassina. Now considered an iconic example of 20th-century Italian design, the series combines a rustic yet modern aesthetic with a simple, functional approach to furniture design.
Made from beechwood, the Carimate chairs and armchairs are characterised by their bold lines and woven straw seats. The armchairs feature integrated armrests, giving them a simple yet welcoming silhouette.
The combination of natural wood and straw creates a warm, harmonious balance, evoking traditional craftsmanship while retaining a distinctly modern approach to furniture design. The Cassina labels beneath the seats confirm the Italian manufacturer's production of these pieces.
This set of six seats would sit naturally around a large dining table, in a country house or within a contemporary interior. With their sculptural presence and natural materials, the Carimate chairs and armchairs bring an authentic, timeless character to any space.
