This set of 4 Basket model armchairs was designed in 1950 by the Italian-Swiss designer Gian Franco Legler, then edited in Italy by Pierantonio Bonacina. These armchairs, stackable, are composed of a honey-colored rattan seat and a base in black lacquered tubular metal. In order to increase their resistance, the feet are covered with plastic, moreover it allows outdoor use.
For the record, these armchairs won the "good design award" awarded by the MoMa (Museum of Modern Art) in New York in 1953, they were made for the Italian restaurant "The Basket".
