Ethnic decorative mask from Cote d'Ivoire 1950

This unique decorative mask was made by a sculptor from an ethnic in Cote d'Ivoire during the fifties. It is composed of polychrome wood. The carved face represents the sun, the sunbeams are expressed by the serrated outline. The two small buffalo horns refer to the fertility.
